Happy weekend! This weekend the students need to finish reading Message of the Mountain.

Today a new policy was begun in our classroom. We will no longer allow squishy and fidget toys in the classroom.

After praying, observing, and doing research, I have found that fidgets of any type are actually more of a distraction.  Students can no longer have them in the classroom. I will reevaluate this after a week of the no fidget rule. There are many techniques we can use to help students to focus, and I would like to explore them to find the best posible method for each student idividually. It is possible that a fidget created specifically for focus will be permitted at a later date.

God made each of us "fearfully and wonderfully", and it is my desire to create the most effective learning atmosphere for each student.

Thank you for understanding.

The normal homework blog will be posted later. To get you started on next week, we are on list 6 in Spelling, and there will be a Science Test on Thursday. There will be a quiz in History on Tuesday and Thursday. Study guides will be sent home on Monday.

Also, students should brush up on their multiplication and measurement facts. You may see some extra work come home to boost these skills.

The Literature Fair is on Tuesday. Set up is Tuesday before school. A form was sent home today to help them do their project.

Grandparent's Day begins at 10 on Friday. Dismissal is directly after.

Please have the students wear white t-shirts and jeans or neutral colored bottoms for Grandparent's Day as we will be representing the period of the Great Depression for the program.

Thank you! Have a great weekend!
