March 1-6

The calendar fundraiser went home today. I am offering a classroom movie and treat if all the students at least fill in one day! This is an important fundraiser for our school, so I hope we can help make it great!  We will resume spelling list 23 this week studying the same words listed last week continuing to skip the vocabulary for now.  Please bring a pack of large notecards on Monday for our research report.  Also, this is Dr. Seuss week, dressing up optional and a theme schedule was sent home today.  On Monday, we have a quiz in History over sections 13.1-13.3 and 14.1-14.2. The test is Thursday over chapters 12-14, a full study guide will come home Monday. Homework: Math Page 185 Sections 4-8 only. History- Read pages 304-306. Be prepared to answer the questions. Remember, there is no spellign list this week. We will pick up on list 23 next week.

2/23-2/27

Sorry for the delayed blog! This week's spelling list will be the following words on list 23: 1, 2, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 23, and 3 additional words: terrible, beautiful, and character. (12 total). There will be no vocabulary this week again as we are doing and IXL vocabulary unit that will not require a test. Things to study: We will complete chapter 11 in Science. The test will be next week, watch for the study guide to come home. We will complete chapter 13 in History. Chapter 13 has one quiz we will take at the end of the week. The test in History will be next week as well over chapters 12-14 since chapters 13 and 14 are short. In Language, we will be beginning a research report. The students need a pack of large notecards and a folder for the material if they do not already have one here at school. The class earned a homework pass that is good for one assignment. Copy missed words 5 times each. Do language worksheet page 65. Do History pages 285-286.

Feb. 16-20

Weekend Homework: Study for History Quiz over sections 12.1-12.5 and the countries Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, and Netherlands on a map. Science-Know the answer to the question- Describe acidic, basic, and neutral substances and give an example of each. Spelling list will be list 22 next week words: 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 9-13, 17, 21, 23, 24, 25 Vocab words 26, 30, 32, and 35. Monday Homework: Write spelling list twice. Please check the blog for homework this week. Remember to dress in school colors on Monday! :)

Tuesday's Homework and Spirit Week Information

Language page 280 B only and page 281 A and B. Study for tomorrow's History Test. Finish work that was not finished in class. (Math pages 163-164 and Language page 103) Wednesday is "Royalty" theme day. Thursday is "Decades" theme day. Friday is "Valentine's Day" theme day. Remember to send $3 for Friday's party. Continue to bring in money for merch or links. We are in the lead, but other classes are gaining on us! :)

Monday Homework and Spelling list

Copy spelling list 20 twice. Here are the numbers of the words we are doing from the list 1-6, 9-12, and 21-23. We will not do the vocabulary list because we will be doing an IXL vocabulary challenge here at school. History and Science homework- Finish making corrections on the open book quizzes. Do History Quiz 18 open book. Begin studying for History test on Wednesday and Science test on Friday.

Spirit Week Extended!

Spirit link contest amd spirit merch sales will continue until February 16. You can submit a poster for the contest until the 11th. There is no chapel this week. Valentine Party will be at lunch Friday the 13th. Send $3 for pizza party and bring a drink. Decorate a box, and bring a Valentine for everyone. Bring a treat if you would like! Spelling Test Monday is the final test for list 19. Have a great weekend!

History, Language, and Spelling.

Zoom meeting was quick. Here are the details: Read ahead each day in our History books since you should have it. Be sure to know the answers to the questions in the CCU as you read. Do a section in Language each snow day if you can, it is not required, but it is a good idea to stay on track. Spelling trial is changed to Friday. Bring those quarters for our class link contest!

 I will be setting up a Zoom meeting at 10:00 tomorrow morning. It is not mandatory, but if you can have your child join, that would be great. I will post the link in the morning. There will be some reading to do in History so we can stay on track.
